Gardner Edgerton Parents as Teachers has been awarded a $5,000 Connection and Resilience Quality Improvement grant from the Parents as Teachers National Center to support the implementation of Conscious Discipline strategies into its programming.

The project period will run from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. Grant funding will support training, materials, implementation support, and related program costs focused on strengthening family engagement and social-emotional well-being.

The purpose of the project is to improve parent-child connections, build resilience, and strengthen families by integrating Conscious Discipline practices into home visits and group programming. Conscious Discipline is an evidence-based approach that supports emotional regulation, positive relationships, and healthy social-emotional development for both children and adults.

Through this initiative, Gardner Edgerton Parents as Teachers will continue to enhance support for families by providing strategies that help parents respond to children’s emotions, reduce stress, and build stronger, more connected family relationships.
