Madison Elementary had a truly special visit that brought smiles, surprises, and unforgettable memories for one of our students and her classmates.
Members of the Kansas Jayhawks volleyball team, along with their coaches, joined Dream Factory volunteers for heartwarming classroom visits. Some of our students have been connecting with Team Impact, a national nonprofit that pairs children facing serious illness or disability with college athletic teams to build meaningful, lasting relationships.
During the visit, the volleyball team spent time reading with students and sharing messages about teamwork, perseverance, and staying active, no matter the challenges you may face. The highlight of the day came when one of our own students received an incredible surprise: she was officially granted her Dream Factory wish - a trip to Florida!
The room filled with excitement, joy, and a few happy tears as classmates and staff celebrated alongside her. It was a powerful reminder of the impact of community.
Principal Emily Fleming said, “We are so grateful to the KU volleyball team, Dream Factory, and Team Impact for creating such a meaningful experience for our students and for helping make dreams come true right here at Madison Elementary.”
