We are pleased to announce a monumental achievement for our Automotive Technology program. As of December 10th, our program is now officially Nationally Accredited by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE).
This accreditation signifies a major milestone for our program and ensures that our facilities and curriculum meets the rigorous standards set by the automotive industry. The benefits of this status are significant and directly impact our students as they will be the primary beneficiaries as well as program resources:
Student Advantage: Accreditation qualifies our students for exclusive national scholarships and grants them access to valuable Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) training pathways. This will accelerate their career and get them into a top paying spot. This also accommodates both, students going to college as well as students going straight into a career.
Program Growth: We anticipate this status will significantly increase donations, specifically leading to the acquisition of new training vehicles and state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment from automotive dealerships.
Furthermore, Mr. Casey is actively working to enhance our academic alignment. Since we are now accredited, he will be collaborating with the leadership of Automotive Technology at JCCC to explore adding a Steering and Suspension class to our offerings, potentially increasing the total number of tuition-free college credits available to our students through the JCCC Automotive program to 15.
