During this meeting, the Board will participate in a listening session and seek input from parents, staff members, and patrons. To ensure every voice is heard, the following protocols will be in place.
Tuesday, May 17, 2022
Board of Education (231 E. Madison Street)
The conversation will be moderated by the Board President and Vice President. Any patron wishing to address the Board will be provided an opportunity to do so. To ensure everyone’s thoughts are heard, those wishing to speak will be handed a microphone and asked to stand (if able). At that time, the speaker will be asked to share their name and relationship with the district (parent, employee, etc.). The speaker will also be asked to share their thoughts, concerns, suggestions, praise, ideas, or any other pertinent information related to the Special Services Department and the unique needs of our students.
- The Board of Education and administrators may or may not answer questions presented by audience members. In some instances, the Board/Admin may need more time to research the question or direct the administrative team to review and respond.
- Speakers are required to avoid personal attacks and be professional, concise, and respectful. Complaints related to personnel or student confidentiality should be submitted in writing to the superintendent.
- No motions will be made nor action taken during this meeting.
In summary, the Board of Education's objective is to gather information in order to formulate a comprehensive plan that meets the needs of our special services community.
Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you on Tuesday, May 17.
