On November 3, 2021, members of the Educational Services department will host a workshop designed to provide information necessary for parents to be constructive members of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team. The training begins with the basics - what an IEP is, brainstorming on preplanning, and understanding the various components of the IEP - from developing the Present Level of Academic Achievement and Functional Performance to determining the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).
Special Services staff members will present practical communication skills and how to measure success in the IEP. Participants will discover strategies to become an effective IEP team member and advocate for what their child needs to be successful.
