The 5th graders did their oil spill clean up project! We have been learning all about environmental engineering and how oil spills can harm an ecosystem. Their task was to clean up their spill while staying under their budget that was given to them. They had to buy their supplies and the more money they spent the more it negatively impacted their engineering score. After they went through their cleaning process they had to evaluate their shore line to see if any pollution went into the soil and then evaluated how far their oil was spread.
