Hello from Major Saver! It was brought to our attention the Gardner Pizza Hut has discontinued their Lunch Buffet at their location. The General Manager gave Major Saver the approval to run the Buy One Lunch Buffet, Get One FREE offer back in January. Unfortunately, the GM is no longer at this location and they are no longer offering the lunch buffet which makes the current offer on this year’s Major Saver not valid. Good News! Pizza Hut would still like to participate on this year’s card with the following offer: Buy One Large Pizza @ Regular Menu Price, Get a Medium 1-Topping FREE! Thanks for your support! Amy Droegemeier, SNS Director of Nutrition Services visited Moonlight Elementary to announce the third-annual USD 231 Student-Led Menu Planning contest. She invited MLE 4th grade classrooms to join all district 4th grade classes in this project. Each 4th grade classroom will work together to plan a lunch menu that will be served to their school on a specified date in April. The classrooms will compete against one another (within their building) to see which menu generates the greatest participation among all students. The students will create marketing (posters, commercials, what can you dream up?) to generate excitement about their menu while highlighting nutritional aspects of their selections. Students will utilize a digital planning tool that lists the items students may choose from to help even the playing field. These items will be listed in a menu-planning spreadsheet where students can work independently or as a group to view all nutritional information as they are planning their meals. The winning classroom at each school will have the opportunity to win a class-selected prize.
