September 18, 2019 -- The National Merit Scholarship Corporation recently announced the semifinalists for the 2019-2020 school year. Gardner Edgerton High School Senior, Hyrum Harlow, was selected as a semifinalist and joins approximately 16,000 students across the nation. Harlow has the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $31 million that will be offered next spring. Over 90 percent of the semifinalists are expected to attain finalist standing, and about half of the finalists will win a scholarship. Congratulations, Hyrum Harlow!
We have recently released that one of our Gardner Edgerton High School students, Kylie Hayes, was named Sunflower State Games Female Athlete of the Year. The great accomplishments keep coming for Kylie! She recently competed in the 2019 National Field Archery Association National Championship, in Yakton, South Dakota. Kylie came home with an outstanding 4th place finish, nation wide. The tournament included two days of competition where archers shot over 150 arrows in 18 rounds of competition. After the first day of competition there were only 3 points separating the top four archers. Congratulations, Kylie Hayes!
