School and Staff Awards
Governor's Achievement Award
Edgerton Elementary School is the recipient of the prestigious Governor's Achievement Award four times. The school received this award in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. The award identifies schools that rank among the top 5% of elementary schools in the state, based on their performance on the annual Kansas State Assessments.
State Standard of Excellence
Edgerton Elementary students have earned the Standard of Excellence Award on the State Math Assessment for nine consecutive years - 2002 through 2011.
Edgerton Elementary 3rd grade students earned the Standard of Excellence Award in Reading in 2006, and both 3rd and 4th grades earned this honor from 2007-2011 .
Edgerton Elementary students earned the State Standard of Excellence in Science in 2003, 2005, 2008, 2010 & 2011.
Challenge Award - Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force
Recognition was awarded to the fourth grade students in 2002 for "beating the odds" in achieving the State Standard of Excellence award in Math.
In 2007, Edgerton Elementary earned two Challenge Awards for their excellent performance on the State Reading assessments in both third and fourth grades.
NASET Outstanding Special Education Teacher Award
Allison Weaver, Interrelated Teacher is the recipient of an Outstanding Teaching Award from the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET).
Shining Star Awards
Several Edgerton Elementary staff members have been recognized by the district for outstanding service to the profession. Recommendations for the Shining Star Award are made by peers. Shining Star recipients at Edgerton Elementary include:

Horizon Award
Amy Pierce was recognized by the Kansas State Department of Education as an outstanding first year teacher.
Fox 4 Crystal Apple Award Nancy Woolery, Edgerton's School Counselor received the prestigous Fox 4 Crystal Apple Award for excellence to the profession in May 2010. This award is presented to 4 Kansas City Metro educators for outstanding service to education.
USD 231 Teacher of the Year
Gina Zimmerman was selected as the USD 231 Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2011. She went on to receive a "Top Three" recognition in the Northeast Region.
