Mustang Spirit Club

Be sure to check out the 5 - 8 Mustang Spirit Club whose mission is to promote positive participation and support of activities and athletics at WMS by attending events, demonstrating positive Mustang Pride, as well as promoting Spirit Events throughout the year.  Membership includes a t-shirt and admittance to all home sporting events.  See your grade level sponsor to join (or Mrs. Rousselo / Mrs. Shogren).  It is a great day to be a Mustang. 

Student Leadership

"The Stang Gang" This organization is comprised of 24 students, 6 from each grade level. The group emphasizes citizenship, leadership, service to others, and civic responsibility.  The students are led by Lori Bobki & Deb Lurtz.  The group has raised awareness and funds for many charitable organizations.

Math Teams

What is the square root of 289?  If you answered 17, you may want to consider being on the math team.  The students on the math team compete in various math competitions throughout the year, such as, Mathletics and the KCATM math competition.  Our biggest competition is the Frontier League Math Contest held in the Spring.

Mustang  Mentors

This program is for our 7th and 8th grade students and takes the place of an elective for a quarter.  Students in this program work with individuals or groups of students from the 5th or 6th grade tutoring them in the areas of reading and math.  Mentoring students receive instruction from their assigned teacher and are given a grade for the program.  This is a great leadership opportunity for the students at WMS.
