Crisis Communication and Response Plan

The school district, in partnership with public safety agencies and crisis consultants, has developed a comprehensive Crisis Communication and Response Plan for the safety and security of district students and staff. Building and district level procedures and responsibilities are in place for crisis situations and crisis drills are practiced routinely. The plan is continually reviewed and revised as needed.

Building-specific, published plans have been developed at each attendance center for each of the following crisis situations:

1. Fire/Explosion

2. Severe Weather/Tornado

3. Perimeter Lockdown

4. Emergency Lockdown

5. Evacuation

6. Shelter in Place/Extended Shelter

7. School Closure

8. Bomb Threat

9. Hazardous Materials

10. Off-Site Emergencies

11. Missing Student

12. Death, Injury, or Illness

13. Utility Failure

Classroom teachers and key support personnel keep a copy of the building crisis plan in an easily accessible place in their work areas.
