Bond Construction Update
As the district continues to grow, staff members are working hard each day to make sure our schools represent a positive and healthy learning environment for all students. Whether it’s constructing new buildings for increased enrollment, adding technological upgrades, or improving the integrity of our existing buildings, Gardner Edgerton School District values the importance of the quality of its schools and facilities.
Thanks to the generous support of Gardner Edgerton School District voters, a $72 million bond issue was approved allowing USD 231 to construct two new schools and address necessary capital improvements. This Web page has been created to provide our patrons with the latest in the construction and improvement progress.
The district began excavating on the future home of the seventh USD 231 elementary school this past summer. The newest elementary school, GRAND STAR ELEMENTARY, located at 401 E. Grand St., is expected to open in the fall of 2013. Ground was broken on the newest middle school, TRAIL RIDGE MIDDLE SCHOOL, located at 495 E. Grand St., in December, 2012, with a fall of 2014 open date. The District Activities Complex was complete for the first 2012 football game. Construction on the high school Multipurpose Activity Center will begin fall, 2013.
